 Sterling Silver & Enamel Butterfly Buckle No. 002
Number 2 of 3 produced, this butterfly buckle was hand-cast in sterling silver using a mold created in 1990 from an 1890's brass buckle of the same design, then carefully hand-painted in brilliant enamel colors before firing.
A second clear enamel finish covers the first to preserve the brilliance of the transparently revealed silver design beneath. As a result you can see the light refraction in the photo above.
This buckle is designed to accept wider belts of almost any description and is joined by a simple hook clasp at the middle, concealed by the body of the butterfly.
These pieces are incredibly elegant and extremely unique in both composition and decoration. |
