 Sterling Silver & Enamel Butterfly Buckle No. 003
Number 3 of 3 produced, this butterfly buckle was hand-cast in sterling silver using a mold created in 1990 from an 1890's brass buckle of the same design, then carefully hand-painted in brilliant enamel colors before firing.
A second clear enamel finish covers the first to preserve the brilliance of the transparently revealed silver design beneath.
This buckle is designed to accept wider belts of almost any description and is joined by a simple hook clasp at the middle, concealed by the body of the butterfly.
These pieces are incredibly elegant and extremely unique in both composition and decoration. |
